Back then, you will not find many games that were without the Gameloft logo on the launch screen of Java phones. Other publishers like Electronic Arts (EA), Konami, Glu Mobile, THQ, Net Lizard, etc. were also among the top publishers of Java games but among these publishers, Gameloft stood tall – a good number of action-adventure, sports, fun, and casual games were made by Gameloft.

1: Real Football 2012
Real Football 2012 for java was the best soccer game for the platform. The game brought in a good chunk of revamped features, graphics, and gameplay as opposed to its prequels. The game features retired Spanish striker – David Villa on its cover.
Several competitions like league competitions, cup tournaments, friendly matches, become a legend, etc. are available in the game. Funny as it may look, a multiplayer mode is also available in the game where you can connect in a multiplayer via Bluetooth with another player.

Java phones like the Nokia C3 or Asha 200 with 320 x 240 resolution screen size were recommended to enjoy the best of the game.
2: Assassin’s Creed 3
Assassin’s Creed 3 was among the best action-adventure keypad-based mobile game published by Gameloft. The storyline centers on the events of the American Revolutionary War – with Connor as the protagonist.
The game comes with many levels set in different terrains. For me, one of the major missions of the game I liked was poking the bear with a stone, which will cause it to chase you. The on-screen commands of the game made the gameplay intuitive to play. Assassin’s Creed 3 size is about 2MB – that could tell you how adventurous the game was as most games then were in Kilobytes (KB).
The Nokia 2700 and Xpress Music with 240 x 320 resolution screen size is best used to fully enjoy the game.
3: Diamond Rush
Some Nokia java phones had the Diamond Rush game preinstalled. Diamond Rush is an arcade adventure game where you control your hero in a 2D linear castle. The player will have to maneuver over several obstacles, solve puzzles, and collect gems and keys to complete objectives.
There are over 40 levels in the game with more than 100 puzzles to be solved in this Gameloft Java game.
4: Modern Combat: 2 Black Pegasus
While also available for Android and iOS, Modern Combat: 2 Black Pegasus was a highly rated Gameloft game for java mobile. The game features the best 2D graphics a java phone could have. Just like most java games, Black Pegasus provides a screen instruction to assist you in playing the game.
The game walks you through the adventures of US Army forces who are sent to thwart a nuclear weapon attack by Arkin and also eliminate him. Some missions in the game are played with the player riding and shooting enemies, while the majority of the levels are played on foot. Items like guns and grenades can be picked while playing the game.
5: Asphalt 6 Adrenaline
Some Nokia Java phones like the Nokia X2-02 had the Asphalt 6 Adrenaline as a follow-come game. Asphalt 6 Adrenaline was Gameloft’s best racing game. Just like the popular Need for Speed video game, the cops will chase you when you over-speed in the game. The graphics of the game is top-notch for a java game.
There is an instant race mode where you enter into a quick race with about 4-8 racers. The career mode runs you through the story where you race across various cities and complete each race objective to become the ultimate Asphalt 6 Adrenaline race champion.
While driving, you can collect yellow and blue nitros – which you can use to boost the speed of your car.
6: A Good Day to Die Hard
A Good Day to Die Hard is Gameloft’s 2013 action game. It features the fictional character John McClane who travels to Russia to save his son Jack. There he discovers that Jack is a CIA agent working to thwart a purported heist of weapons of mass destruction by terrorists. Some levels or turn of events could change the player character to Jack.
The graphics of the game is good. Several firearms can be collected as the player explores the game. The controls are very simple to use, with a medium-level difficulty.
7: Gangstar Rio: City of Saints
The Gangster series was one of the few open-world games for java phones. Gangstar Rio: City of Saints puts you into the city of Rio where crime is at its peak. Just the popular GTA San Andreas or GTA Vice City Stories, you can freely roam through the city – doing whatsoever you like.
When you’re not on a mission, you can enter into street racing, attack the cops, steal or hijack people’s vehicles, ride on a jet ski, and fly helicopters. Hidden packages, guns, grenades, health/armor, are all scattered across various locations in the game. You can pick items like guns and money from a dead person.
8: Midnight Pool 3
Midnight Pool 3 was Gameloft’s best billiards java phone game. Some Nokia devices even came with the game preinstalled. In the city of Las Vegas filled with Pro billiards players, you will need to battle your way to the top and become the best Pool player in Sin city.
9: Dungeon Hunter 3
One of my favorite Gameloft adventure java game was Dungeon Hunter 3. Dungeon Hunter is a hack and slash RPG adventure game. A seemingly great evil has totally encapsulated the land of Gothicus. You must now fight your way out through the dungeons by defeating the besieging monsters and beasts.
There is a combo called God Mode and Hack Speed that turns and makes you invincible to attack and also attack an enemy in a quick fashion.
10: Assassin’s Creed: Revelations
In fact, all Assassin’s Creed games for Java phones were published by Gameloft. Assassin’s Creed Revelations have two playable characters – Ezio and Altaïr. Players must uncover the secrets of the Assassin’s Brotherhood while defeating enemies and other high-ranking Templars.
A machine known as the DaVinci flying machine can be used to fly at certain points in the game.
11: Iron Man 3
Iron Man 3 is another action Gameloft Java game on my list. The game has a great aesthetics and fair graphics. Iron Man uses his armor to fly around the city saving people and objects from destruction. Some missions of the game will see you diverting missiles aimed at destroying objects or people.
Quick hints are also given in the game for ease of play.
12: Splinter Cell: Conviction
Splinter Cell: Conviction was Gameloft’s 2010 action mobile game. The game had some fascinating features that electrified the gameplay back in the days. You will play as Fisher – a special force operative who seeks to rescue his daughter from a corrupt secret organization. At some stages in the game, Fisher will have to hack into computer systems by entering codes. Fisher uses a hand gun as his primary weapon. Other firearms like AK-47 and bazooka will be collected as the game progresses.
13: NBA Pro Basketball 2010
NBA Pro Basketball 2010 was among the best basketball games for java keypad mobile. The architect of this game was Gameloft. NBA Pro Basketball 2010 comes with several basketball ball tricks which can be used to outscore your opponents.
There is a Instant play, Exhibition, Season, and Challenge mode. Choosing the instant play mode will enter you into a random match, where you can select your favorite team and face off any other team of your choice. The Season mode walks players through their career, where they will compete against other NBA teams.
14: Real Football 2010
Real football 2010 was a fun to play and addictive sports game. The graphics of the game was a gem for a java phone. One outstanding feature of the game was the “Did You Know” message that appeared before a match starts. Interesting events, histories, and information about football were relayed during the process.
I learned a couple of facts about football from it. League competitions, tournaments, and international competitions are all available in the game. When a player fires a shot when his morale is high, the ball would be covered with lightning or fire. Injuries, winter, and summer seasons are available in the game too.
15: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is a 2012 Gameloft Java game. A mode called the Ghost mode allowed players to become invisible to nearby enemies. The Ghost Recon team is sent to infiltrate the enemy hideouts and destroy a WMD that is currently in their possession.
16: Asphalt 3: Street Rules
Asphalt 3: Street Rules was a racing game the java world will never forget. The graphics, tracks, and events of the game are unreal. There is an instant race mode where players can enter into quick races with random opponents.
When you over-speed in the game, you will alert the police and they will begin chasing you. A successful drift rewards the player with a higher score.
