The PSP platform has given its users quite an incredible amount of Role-playing games (RPG) that they can play on their PSP. Although PSP RPGs here are ISO files that are supported on android devices – playable only on android devices via a PSP android emulator. In Japan, there is also a sub-RPG know as Japan roleplaying game (JRPG).
RPG game is a type of video game genre in which the player takes up the role of the game characters often in an imaginary setting as they try to complete a quest.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is an action role-playing PSP video game, with Square Enix handling the development and publishing duty. It was released in 2007 as a PSP exclusive game.
The player character assumes the role of a paramilitary soldier, Zack Fair, the main protagonist who is on a mission to find the missing soldier – Genesis Rhapsodos. On his sojourn for the missing soldier, Zack Fair however discovers Genesis origins and its links to Sephiroth, who turns out to be the game’s antagonist.

Another fun to play PSP RPG is – The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. The game was developed by Nihon Falcom and published by Ghostlight for PSP.

3: Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep is an action PSP RPG game. Just like Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep is also a PSP exclusive game.
It’s also one of the roleplaying games that allow character creation – where you can create and customize your own special game character.
The main characters in the game are Terra, Aqua, and Ventus who are seeking to become masters themselves under Master Eraqus. Kingdom Hearts is a hack and slash game. The player is also capable of performing combos when his power gauge is full.

4: X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse
X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse is an action roleplaying game. X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants join forces to fight against the Apocalypse. Meanwhile, Apocalypse is now ravaging and destroying cities. Professor X and Polaris are now kidnapped by Apocalypse. X-men and the Brotherhood of Mutants are now on the mission to rescue them from Apocalypse as well as put a stop to their terror.
The player character gains more experience by defeating enemies in the game, superpowers and special abilities can be upgraded. While fighting, the character is capable of performing combo attacks to stun enemies.

Wild Arms XF is a 2008 turn-based tactical roleplaying game developed by Media.Vision and published by Sony Computer Entertainment.
Players are capable of commanding a small group of characters in a location. This small unit can be controlled to fight battles for progression in the game. While not on a mission, the player can explore the city of Elesius, which he can buy weapons, consumables, etc.

7: Half-Minute Hero
As a hero in Half-Minute Hero, you’re given 30 seconds in the game to foil a spell cast by an evil boss which could destroy the earth under 30 seconds.
The game has 6 different modes from Hero 30 Mode, Evil Lord 30 Mode, Princess 30 Mode, Knight 300 Mode, Hero 300 Mode, to Hero 3 Mode. Some modes are unlocked after completing the initial modes.

8: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is an action roleplaying game. The game allows you to choose four marvel superheroes and then rally them to victory against the enemies.

9: The 3rd Birthday
The 3rd Birthday is a third-person RPG published exclusively for the PSP platform. Despite not appearing in the first list, it is one of the best shooter PSP RPGs
The game narrates the adventure of Aya a member of the CTI who is charged to battle against villainous creatures known as the Twisted who are already ravaging the city of Manhattan.
Aya can collect pickable items such as medkits, grenades, etc. Handguns, assault rifles, and shotguns are part of Aya’s arsenal.

10: Riviera: The Promised Land
Riviera: The Promised Land was one of the best PSP RPGs of 2002. The protagonist Ein, a Grim Angel battles against demons and other evil creatures in an attempt to stop the Accursed by sealing the evil four Fountainheads.
Riviera: The Promised Land feature six playable characters. The storyline is great along with its objective design.

11: Metal Gear Acid
Konami’s Metal Gear Acid is a turn-based tactical RPG that features a card-based system.
Terrorists are reported to have hijacked a jet carrying a crew of politicians including senator Hach. The game narrates the adventures of Solid Snake as he leads the line to mount an investigation about the Pythagoras a research project which the terrorists are requesting in exchange for the senator.
12: Monster Hunter Freedom
Monster Hunter Freedom is a 2005 PSP RPG published by Capcom. Advancing in this typical hack ‘n’ slash RPG, the player needs to move around the location leveling up quests as well as upgrading their equipment.
The game also comes with a single and multiplayer mode. The single-player mode allows the player to explore the village – completeing several quests and also buying items. Another PSP action RPG in this list is the Phantasy Star Portable. The game was released as a psp exclusive in 2008 by Sega.
The storyline pictures the S.E.E.D an evil group that wreaked havoc in the Universe. The CASTs successfully eliminate and drives them out of the system. For the time being, peace has been restored but it seems the remnants of the S.E.E.D will rejuvenate and begin their regular business style.
Meanwhile, Vivienne a new CAST, and her partner will work together to save the Gurhal system and give a final elimination of the S.E.E.D. Phantasy Star Portable also allows you to create your your own character.

Valkyria Chronicles II is a 2010 tactical RPG published by Sega. A villainous rebel group is trying to cause an ethnic cleansing against the Gallians. The goal is to stop this move and restore a balance of power.

15: Persona 3 Portable
Persona 3 is a team-based RPG that narrated the adventure of a young orphan girl. Shortly after her return to her childhood city, she is attacked by evil creatures. Thereafter, she joins the Special Extracurricular Squad (SEES) with her new school friends to face off the evil against her.

Gods Eater Burst is a Namco Bandi Games 2010 action role-playing game. Players assume the role of a young God Eater special warriors who are trained to defeat Aragami, the monstrous protagonist in the game.

How to install/extract PSP ISO files to play them on your Android device
Having issues trying to extract PPSSPP/PSP ISO ROM files? Simply follow the steps to work that out.
- Download and open the ES file explorer app.
- Click the internal storage that looks like an SD card. After that, click on the Download folder. Check below, you will see the PSP ISO game file in a zip format.
- Tap and hold the zipped file. It will bring up options. Now click on More located at the bottom right corner.
- Tap on Extract To and then click on choose path. Click on SDcard and then locate the PSP folder. Tap the PSP folder > Game. While in the PSP game folder, click OK to finally extract the game zip file.
- After successfully extracting the game, now launch your PPSSPP app. Navigate to the PSP folder > Games where you extracted the game into. Finally, tap on the game and wait for it to load
- After that, enjoy your PPSSPP game
