Most times, the reason why some people long to identify various mobile network numbers is to evaluate how they will make their calls.
As you know already, making calls via the same network has a lower call charge rate as compared to when you make calls with other networks.
This guide will be covering on all you need to know on how to identify, easily detect and differentiate between an MTN number from Airtel, Glo, and 9mobile.
But then, before proceeding, it would be worth knowing that, due to the introduction of the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), any number could be easily ported to any mobile network.
The Mobile Number Portability allows network subscribers to swap from one network provider to another while retaining the exact or original phone number. i.e transferring from the MTN network to Airtel, while the MTN number remains the same without changing.
Due to this, sometimes the prefix attached to numbers no longer becomes a yardstick through which a particular mobile network number is identified.
